Our milk comes from TD Goodall of Scarcroft, Leeds. They have the most modern technology, highest animal welfare standards and their 230 Holstein Friesian cows produce the most beautiful Yorkshire milk which is all processed and bottled on site.
As well as using robotic milking to give the cows the freedom to choose when they eat, sleep and are milked, 85% of the energy used on the farm is generated form renewable sources with their own wind, solar and anaerobic digester on site.

Our organic milk comes from Acorn Diary in the North Yorkshire and Durham Dales, it is award-winning fresh organic milk.
Rather than using chemical-based fertilisers, Acorn improve the soil fertility naturally by growing deep-rooting legumes (red clover and beans) and recycling farmyard manure as compost.
Since converting to organic farming in 1998, the diversity of the wildlife to be found around the farm has increased greatly. Both insects and small birds have benefited from the increased hedgerow size and the absence of chemicals on the farm.
The result? Cows feeding on grass that’s been grown in healthy, chemical-free soils and surrounded by abundant hedges means everyone benefits: the cows, the wildlife and the humans!

On the farm, Ian Taylor's hens get quality feed made from natural ingredients without added colour or antibiotics. To ensure bird health they are committed to a programme of stringent and regular testing of their flocks which roam free every day. This includes vaccination and regular testing for salmonella.
After being graded and packed on the farm the free-range eggs are delivered to Gills within three days of lay to guarantee product freshness.

Harry was the driving force behind persuading his parents to convert the farm to Organic production. It started when he received a letter telling him that his hen food was no longer guaranteed not to contain any GM ingredients, and after shopping around he realised the only way he could guarantee this was to buy Organic hen food.
From an early age Harry realised that it was imperative for all his hens to have access to grass and to roam freely to get a high quality tasty egg. Despite many hens being labelled as "free range", the only real way to ensure this is to keep the colony sizes small.

Our range of cheese comes from Dewlay Cheesemakers in Garstang. Founded in 1957, Dewlay has earned a reputation for producing the very best cheese from its dedicated dairy and packing site.
Cheesemaking has a rich heritage in Lancashire due to its lush, green pasture lands. Traditionally, farm holdings would not have enough milk to make a 20kg cheese, so they would make the curd on one day, store overnight and then make more curd on the second day, mixing the two together to create a 20kg cheese. This unique system gave rise to the Lancashire Cheese, two-day curd method that is still being used by Dewlay today.
Consistently producing high quality cheese is what Dewlay do best, and all of their cheeses are suitable for vegetarians as they are made from pasteurised milk. Their factory is powered by a 2MW wind turbine. Standing at 126 metres tall, the wind turbine has reduced carbon emissions by 2992 tonnes; this is equivalent to the annual usage of over 1,100 homes.
